THE FLOOD THAT WILL NEVER FLASH AWAY

Brgy: 29 Sitio Lusong, Sto. Tomas, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte

In a sudden and alarming turn of events, a flash flood has struck Sitio Lusong of Brgy. 29 Sto. Tomas Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, sending shockwaves through the local community.

The typhoon had stayed in the PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility) for almost 2 days of unstoppable rain and disturbing winds and due to this happenings that the area of the said location was flooded. The water level is playing between 2.5 feet to almost 8 feet as the highest level according to local residents. This resulted to sleepless evening to the residents of the said sitio/purok as anxiety and nervousness had contained in their hearts and the strong winds that caused rescue teams into danger as strong winds will not let these boats go into voyage.

This turn of events in the span of almost 48 hours had made the whole barangay almost sunk that many poultry, piggery and other farm animals near the vicinity almost drowned to death. This was a very unexpected event and the first time for almost 20 years that the province and most especially the said barangay experienced this kind of flash flood.
